Non-Profit Virtual Internships That Make a Difference

Since June 2020, hundreds of students have participated in Global Experiences’ virtual internships around the world. The GE Virtuoso program has helped students gain valuable work experience from the comfort of their own homes.

We work with employers in over 27 countries including Uganda, the Caribbean, Switzerland, India, Lithuania to provide life-changing, impactful experiences. Many of these employers are non-profit or for-purpose organizations doing amazing work that makes a difference in people’s lives and around the world.

Intern Experience: Tovah's D.C. Non-Profit Internship Experience

Tovah is a recent graduate from Carleton University in Ontario, Canada. She graduated with a degree in Political Science and a specific concentration in Public Affairs and Policy Analysis.

During the summer of 2019, she interned in the prominent city of Washington, D.C. - the perfect city for her to expand on her studies and gain real world experience.

Intern Experience: Jackie's Non-Profit Internship in Barcelona, Spain

Millions of tourists flock to Barcelona every year to enjoy the sun, city, beach, and food. Life in the Catalan capital promotes a unique, cosmopolitan lifestyle.

This past fall, Jackie B. a senior at Texas A&M University, experienced this lifestyle and learned more about the non-profit industry with her internship in Barcelona.

Choosing a city in Spain was definitely difficult. After researching Spain I knew Barcelona would be the best choice for me because of its cosmopolitan lifestyle. This city is urban and new but it has never forgotten its history. The city pride here isn't like anything I have ever experienced."

Intern Experience: Caroline’s Environmental Internship in Costa Rica

As she finished her junior year at Temple University, Caroline knew she wanted to broaden her professional horizons through an international internship.

Passionate about her majors in Media Studies & Production and Environmental Studies, Caroline was looking for an opportunity to focus on creative media production and communication, while also educating herself and others on environmental and social justice issues.

With previous experience volunteering, podcasting, conducting documentary work, and other leadership opportunities, she knew an internship in San José was the perfect next step to advance her career.

Intern Experience: Helmi's Non-Profit Internship in London

As Helmi was going into her senior year at University of Alabama this past summer, she wanted to expand her worldview and hone her professional skill set and she believes that her internship abroad in London did more than just that. Her story highlights the power time in London, which she notes is “a multicultural city with a rich history,” and that’s a big part why people from around the world are naturally drawn to the city of iconic telephone booths and bright red double decker buses. We’re going to explore Helmi’s life-changing experience with some highlights of her journey and the effect that it’s had on her life.
