Why is a Summer Internship Important For Undergraduates And Graduates?

Monika Markley | September.29.2021

No matter at the undergraduate or graduate level, a student’s first priority at university should be, well, their studies. From lectures and seminars to labs and projects, days are filled with class, homework, library study sessions, research, and tutors with the singular focus of excelling at subject matter.

Add in a part-time job or two and some extracurricular activities and there are just not enough hours in the day to add in a professional internship experience!

Consider that after graduation, without an internship, only 43.5% of students got a job offer according to College Recruiter in 2019. Because of this, planning and setting aside the time for an internship during the summer is crucial.

Ireland needs no selling; she’s perfect. But for those who need a little convincing, below are the top nine reasons to intern in Dublin this year:

Jenepher Mackin | October.27.2020

Fall in the United States is often synonymous with children returning to school, college campuses swarming with students, the return of football, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Fall holds even more weight when the American people elect their next president.

The United States is considered a federal democratic republic in which the people choose elected officials to represent them in the government. Presidential elections are held every four years in years divisible by four, and 2020 just happens to be one of those years.

While Americans gear up to cast their votes on November 3rd, let’s take a look at what elections and voting look like in other Global Experiences program locations!

Active Jewish communities can be found in every corner of the globe. Outside of Israel, the world’s largest Jewish population is in the United States. Other countries included in the top 10 may surprise you! France is third on the list, the UK is sixth, and Germany and Australia round out the top 10.

While there are three main denominations within Jewish practice (Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform), identifying as Jewish does not necessarily mean “religious.” There is also cultural Judaism, and many people who identify as Jewish consider themselves secular.
