With its extensive metro, bus, and bike systems, interns will find it easy to get around the city with a little practice. Commutes to work will vary from a ten-minute walk to a longer metro ride, with intern housing located throughout the city. High speed trains are available to connect outer suburbs to the center of the city and it is easy to take weekend trips out of the city by train – London being a 2 hour train ride, the south of France a 3 hour trip, and both Amsterdam and Frankfurt about a 4 hour ride.

Once in-country, interns become part of a community that provides them the perfect balance of group and individual support. Interns in Paris become acclimated to the city through social and cultural events and a continued career development process. Paris-based location staff live in the city, providing a knowledgeable resource to the various arrondissements and 24/7 emergency support. During the summer, Resident Assistants may even join from Global Experience’s growing alumni community, providing an additional layer of support, mentorship, and pastoral care to those interning in the City of Lights.
