Tips and Tales From Around the Globe

The sound of a busy city, the robust smell of espresso, and an accordion echoing in the distance. This is what you wake up to every morning in the beautiful city of Florence.

Florence is the pinnacle of art, food, fashion, and music, and is sure to ignite your sense of adventure. Being the free spirited lover of landscapes and all things artistic that I am, I knew this would be the perfect place for me to intern abroad.

Exceeding all expectations, Florence not only captivated my thirst for new experiences, but it left all six of my senses buzzing with euphoria. Here are some tips, tricks, and guidelines to help you live your best life in Florence, Italy.

 

In a dingy diner in Dublin, intern Fiona M. sits across from a prestigious Irish documentary director over a cup of coffee. He proceeds to give her the best advice she’s received since starting her internship in Dublin: “You can tell a story and you know how to use a camera. Create something. The worst outcome is that nobody ever watches it.”

Just months before in the spring of 2017, Fiona had been happily working full-time with a video production company in the United States while taking classes part-time as a digital media graduate student at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bonjour from Paris!

Claire, a Texas A&M student, had the time of her life in a summer internship in Paris, France. As an intern Claire had an important role on the Film / Video production team in the City of Lights. Let’s take a peek into the experience of a young professional Aggie abroad.

Below are two emails we've received over the summer from two interns who are finishing up their internship program in Dublin.The first is an email from Morgan, who is a junior studying engineering at the University of San Diego. 

 

Terry has completed two Global Experiences internships.  He did an internship in film production in NYC in the summer of 2012 and then he participated in a marketing internship in Paris over the summer of 2013.
