Tips and Tales From Around the Globe

I’ll be the first to admit this to you: I’m a huge nerd. I fell in love with Divergent three years ago and had been slightly obsessed with it until I finished the final installment earlier this year. After seeing the movie last weekend, I was tossed back into the thoughts of what faction would I choose (because I’d be divergent, obviously) which led me to thinking about the Clifton Strengths that we provide all of our participants. What if we divided the Strengths into the Divergent factions?

Over the past few years, we’ve had many different family members that have interned aboard together including over 5 different sets of twins. We know all the great reasons why someone should intern abroad, but what are the benefits of doing an internship with your twin or sibling? We asked a few of our alumni who interned aboard with a family member to discuss the benefits and challenges of interning abroad with a brother or sister.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve collected 12 fun facts about Ireland and St. Patrick that will make you yearn for the rocky shores and rolling green hills of the Emerald Isle!

Jess Taleff, a senior studying Music Business and Technology at Millersville University, is currently interning abroad in Sydney, Australia.  When asked about her experience so far by a student interested in joining the program, she had the following to say:

An internship abroad is a large investment into your time, your money, and your future. We’ve already told you about all the great benefits of doing an international internship, but we haven’t we discussed the great perks of planning ahead to travel abroad.

Appropriately nicknamed the City That Doesn’t Sleep (because there's too much to do!), NYC is constantly abuzz with festivals, markets, shopping, nightlife, and plenty of really unique people to meet. No matter if you decide to spend a few days or a few months interning in New York City, there is no limit to all of the great places you can discover and many of them completely free!

In honor of Valentine's Day, we've created a list of the most romantic spots in each of our locations. Of course, most of you do not have a significant other with you during your internship abroad, but it doesn't mean you can't  spend this Valentine's Day falling in love with your new home.

Thousands of people flock to Washington, D.C. every year to explore the hundreds of great attractions, festivals, and rub shoulders with the USA's political leaders. DC is a smaller, but thriving international metropolis full of entertainment for everyone. Though DC ranks in the top 20 for most expensive cities in the world, there are plenty of great things to do that won't cost a dime!
