About London Internships
The Global Experiences London internship program provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical work experience in a wide range of professional career fields while experiencing all that British life and culture has to offer. The program combines a professional internship, contemporary student accommodation, group excursions and social activities, and more.
The 8 week summer program offers two program structures
- Academic internship program combining internship with a credit course program.
- NEW Non-course full time internship program using the new BUNAC visa system. This option is limited to certain career fields and to seniors and graduates within a year of finishing their degree. Application deadline is March 15th 2010.

Approved applicants will work with our experienced staff to discuss your academic background, career goals, resume and interview preparation, and development of the customized internship. We are proud to have a 100% intern placement success rate for all accepted into our London internship program.
Included in the fall and summer academic program is a seminar coursework component offering 12 credits in the Semester and 6 credits in the summer on a US transcript for those interested in earning credits. Click here for more information regarding academic credit.

London Programs Includes
Global Experiences London program is a comprehensive group program that offers many of the components you need for a great semester or summer abroad. Included in the program are the following services:
Guranteed Custom Internship Placement
Global Experiences guarantees internships to all participants accepted into its internship programs. Unlike traditional recruitment companies, we work with each applicant on a one-to-one basis to understand their expectations and match them with the best employer in their prospective career field. By getting to know each individual applicant, learning their academic backgrounds, career objectives, language proficiency (where relevant) and overall expectations for their experience abroad, we are able to place each individual in a work environment that will help them gain valuable work experience abroad. We help each prospective intern create an effective resume, professionally prepare for interviews with potential employers, and psychologically prepare for their experience living and working abroad.
Seminar Coursework Component
Included in the semester and summer program is a coursework seminar component, which gives you both a great introduction to London and British culture as well as credits from a US accredited university. Semester participants receive 12 credits for both course and internship experiences and summer participants receive 6 credits. Non-course program options are available to European, Canadian and Australian citizens. Please inquire within for more details.
Seniors and graduates within a year of finishing their degree may be eligibile to participate in a non-credit, full time internship placement under the new BUNAC visa requirements. This option is only available for certain career fields, so it is very important for you to contact a program consultant and enroll in your desired start date as early as possible.
Housing
Interns live in a contemporary twin share room with great amenities. Located in central London, this student accommodation is close to the London Underground and Eurostar trains., providing easy access to the greater London area and other countries in Europe. You will be living the European dream before you know it. See the Accommodations section for more details.
Excursions and Social Events
Global Experiences wants to you to work hard and also play hard with our excursion and activities calendar designed for you to maximize your time abroad. Global Experiences offers regular happy hours to help you network with your peers in London’s social scene. You can travel independently or with fellow interns using Global Experiences travel resources to compliment your social calendar. Consult one of our program consultants to learn what is included in your program of interest (it depends on the time of year). All programs include a variety of social opportunities to make the most of your time in London and Europe.

London Internship Program Eligibility
Participants in the London internship program are required to be a minimum of 19 years old and have at least two semesters or relevant coursework experience in their preferred internship field. Participants must also have a very high level of English in order to participate in a university and professional setting.
Visa Eligibility
Global Experiences can accept most nationalities into the London program. Participants either travel on a study visa or take advantage of a working holiday visa according to the system set forth by the UK Immigration authorities. Participants must meet English language proficiency levels as well as have relevant college or university level coursework in the field in which an internship is sought. If you are uncertain regarding your eligibility please inquire within.

Finding the career that is right for you is a journey that may last a lifetime. Global Experiences will help you identify your personal and professional goals, as well as prepare to apply those in a real world work environment.
We walk you through a comprehensive consultation to understand your academic background, learning and career objectives, language proficiency (where relevant), and whether you are interested primarily in the travel experience or the professional development opportunites available through your customized program. Getting to know you and understanding all of these variables helps us to identify the best internship for you.
Since we guarantee our internships, we will not accept you into our program unless we are confident we can find a suitable placement for you.We are generally able to let you know in our first contact with you whether you are a good candidate for our program.
Once you are accepted into the program and pay your program deposit, we will immediately begin formalizing your internship placement. We will work with you to create an effective resume, prepare for an interview (required for many placements), and organize the documentation required to secure your visa. All participants will have access to a portal of pre-departure information that will help prepare you for your Global Experience.
Summary of Placement Process
- Determine your program eligibility (see eligibility page)
- Submit an inquiry form to connect with a program consultant
- Submit application form as soon as possible for your preferred dates and pay $50 application fee
- Receive acceptance into the program
- Pay $1000 deposit to reserve your place in the program
- Begin preparation process for internship and apply for your visa (as necessary)
- Complete application steps and make final fee payment. Payment plans are available.
- Arrive in London to start your program!
Housing in London
Participants will stay with other students and interns from around the world in one of central London’s most bustling boroughs of culture and entertainment, King’s Cross. Just a five minute walk from the King’s Cross Tube station will take you to the steps of Nido Student Living. This contemporary student housing offers great amenities with a diverse and fun international atmosphere.
This is not your typical student housing!
You will enjoy an on-site café, laundry room, screening room, free bike storage, and free use of the fitness center. There is also 24-hour security, CCTV and live-in staff for student support, health and safety.
Nido’s is located five minutes from the Eurostar National Rail Services. The Eurostar trains can get to Paris and Burssels in two hours and service many other desirable destinations.

Academic Credit
The London program combines an internship with a seminar coursework program in partnership with the HULT International Business School, an accredited US-based institution. The semester program (15 weeks) includes 12 credits and will provide an academic framework for the internship placement. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a US transcript from HULT as well as a professional reference from their host employer.
The summer program (8 weeks) offers 6 credits for the course and internship. Other than those who reside in a country that has a Working Holiday visa program with the UK, all participants must attend the coursework component in order to meet UK visa requirements under Tier 4, (including US citizens).
Non-course internship programs are available for European, Australian and Canadian applicants, and seniors and graduates using BUNAC visa.
