Dr. Thomas L Bowling

Dr. Thomas L. Bowling

Vice President for Student Affairs
Frostburg State University

Dr. Thomas L. Bowling has served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Frostburg State University since 2006. His service in that role was briefly paused by his appointment as interim president from July 2015 to May 2016.

A longtime member of the FSU community, he started at Frostburg in 1976. Dr. Bowling earned his Ph.D. in higher education administration from Florida State University, his M.Ed. in educational sociology from Wayne State University while serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, and his B.A. with honors in Arts and Sciences from Illinois State University.

Professionals in Higher Education. He also has served as a member of the ACT Board of Trustees, on the advisory board for Outside the Classroom, and as a team member on several accreditation site visits for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

He also serves Maryland/DC Campus Compact as a member of its Senior Advisory Group for Engagement (SAGE).

Jennifer L. Ewald

Jennifer L. Ewald

Associate Vice Provost for Global Strategy
Fairfield University

Ms. Ewald is an international education administration professional specializing in program development and project management. Ms. Ewald’s experience in the field of international education and training includes university, government, provider, and non-profit development agencies.

Her experience encompasses project management, international student advising, study abroad programming, cross-cultural training and independent consulting.

Her work, both domestically and abroad, has allowed Ms. Ewald to develop international marketing strategies and manage education and training programs throughout Latin America, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe.

Ms. Ewald earned a B.A. in General Studies, cum laude, from the University of Arizona and holds the Masters in Intercultural Management from the School for International Training. Ms. Ewald is the Director of Study Abroad and International Programs at Fairfield University.

Brian Stiegler

Brian Stiegler

Assistant Provost for International Education
Salisbury University

Brian Stiegler earned his PhD in Spanish and Latin American Literature at the Pennsylvania State University. His dissertation explored the nexus of politics and self-conscious metafiction in Peruvian novels in the 1980’s.

He has served on the faculty of the Department of Modern Languages at Salisbury University since 1998 where he is currently Associate Professor. He currently serves as Assistant Provost for International Education at Salisbury University and has served as the Director of the Center for International Education since 2006.

His current duties include the supervision of education abroad programming, international student and scholar services, the English Language Institute, and international admissions. He has been appointed Visiting Professor at Xinhua College since 2014. He is married with three children and lives in Salisbury, Maryland, USA.

Michael D. True

Michael D. True

Senior Associate for Talent Development & Marketing, Career & Professional Development Center
Messiah College

Michael True serves as Senior Associate for Talent Development & Marketing in the Career & Professional Development Center at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

He is also president of INTRUEITION, the parent company of InternQube.com. Mike has worked in the field of internships for 26 years and has provided resources to his colleagues, employers, students, and faculty.

He has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, Business Week, Newsday, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, as well as other national and regional newspapers and magazines regarding internships.

He has served as Chair of the Internship/Co-op Special Interest Group of the National Society for Experiential Education and is a certified trainer with the Cooperative Education and Internship Association. Mike has been named one of ten Visionary Leaders in a national survey, presented with the Exemplary Leader Award and Higher Education Leader Award by NSEE, and has received several other honors from various other organizations.
