How to Apply

While career development and true cultural immersion are lifelong endeavors, we make the process of securing an international internship quick and easy. Six simple steps and you will be involved in an unforgettable experience that will truly give you an edge in life.

Step 1: Review the website and submit a Program Inquiry Form

Review the information for the program location you are interested and complete our brief program inquiry form. Don't worry - we won't kill your inbox with loads of nonsense!

Step 2: Consultation and Application

Once we receive your inquiry, one of our dedicated program consultants will be in touch with you to discuss your goals for the program and conduct an eligibility review for the program. Once we have determined your eligibility for the program, we will invite you to formally Apply. With an application, resume, cover letter, and $50 USD application fee we will be able to consult with our employer relations team. If we can guarantee you a great internship in your field, we will pass along acceptance and outline program details in a customized proposal, great for you to share with family and friends. Placement in your field is 100% guaranteed if you are offered acceptance!

Step 3: Enrollment and Internship Sourcing

Upon approval you'll be asked to submit your Enrollment Deposit. Part of the total tuition, this "down payment" secures your place in the program and allows us to move forward in finalizing your program and securing your internship! As we begin crafting the internship experience most suited to your background and goals, you will be able to use our extensive pre-departure system to get ready for your experience.

Step 4: Prep Stage and Interviewing

As you receive personal and professional development training during the prep stage you are able to connect with fellow interns via social media tools. We typically arrange an interview with your prospective employer via phone or Skype prior to the program start date, or in person once you have arrived in your host country (for non-English speaking countries). For English speaking, your internship is secured prior to departure.

Step 5: Internship Placement

Once your placement company is finalized, you will be assigned a dedicated supervisor who will be responsible for helping you assimilate to their corporate culture and define your specific tasks and responsibilities.

Step 6: Progress and Follow Up

We will be monitoring your progress for the duration of your internship (and language training, if applicable). We have local representatives to help with any issues that might arise and to ensure you are satisfied with your placement. Upon successful completion of your program, you will receive a statement of reference from your host company as well as copies of any evaluations completed by you, your advisor, and your employer.

Items to Note

Enrollment Deposit Payment Deadlines

Places in Global Experiences programs are often limited and applications are considered on a rolling basis, thus applications are assessed as they arrive and programs are filled accordingly. Programs are competitive and the best placements typically go to the best (and earliest) applicants. Each program start date has an enrollment deposit payment deadline so be sure to inquire within to learn of the deadline for your program, and don't delay so you get priority consideration!

Late Enrollments

In some cases, enrollments may be accepted after the enrollment deadline if the program still has availability. You are encouraged to email the appropriate program consultant or call 1-877-GE-ABROAD if interested in a program for which the enrollment deadline has passed.
