Project Moda: Season One
Hold onto your cute little hats, all your fashionistas!
Tired of watching it on TV? This summer you can be a part of making history by taking part in Season One of Project MODA, the first in Global Experiences’ world-wide search for up and coming fashion talent. This Global Experiences reality event takes place in Florence, Italy July 10th 2010. All participants in the Florence summer fashion internship program are invited to join in a documentary style competitive one day event in which participants can showcase their creative fashion talents in front of an expert panel of fashion professionals. The winners will receive prizes and be profiled in media outlets and have their outfit displayed in a Florence boutique. All participants will receive photos of their final styled outfits to add something real to your portfolio, and of course take part in something totally unique and super fun!
All participants will work on a one day fashion challenge and then style professional models for a photo shoot and catwalk followed by judging and evening fashion party. The day will be recorded to be developed into a documentary style program. Models include the Italian finalist for Miss Universe 2009!!. Panel judges include a national Italian media fashion journalist, fashion buyers, and Fashion professionals. This is your chance to get noticed! And Get MADE IN ITALY.
All Florence Summer Fashion participants and Milan summer fashion interns are invited. Open to interns in fashion design, business, merchandising, marketing and photography and interior design.

Intensive Italian Language Training
The program starts with a three week Italian Language immersion program, run by a well respected Italian language school and accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, includes a total of 30 lesson hours per week in small groups. As the quality of your internship experience will be largely dependent on your proficiency in the language we encourage all participants to prepare as much as possible prior to arriving in Italy through self study or courses. All classes are taught in Italian only so get ready to learn!
Custom Internship Placement
We will work with you to find the best available placement in the internship area you request. Interviews are conducted prior to arrival but as the Italian business culture is very personal, and some placements will be determined once you have arrived in Florence and have interviewed with the Internship Coordinator and the company in person. Skills Required
This is a selective program for those with relevant coursework experience in fashion or related fields. Personal characteristics for successful participants are, flexibility, confidence, maturity and independence, adaptability, a willingness to learn, and a passion for Italian culture and fashion.

Guided Fashion Excursion Program
- Fashion Tour of Florence, With guide in hand, we will take a tour of the different fashion districts in Florence. From the luxury of via Tournabuoni to the artisans of the Oltrarno and the boutiques of Borgo Pinti, you will discover the hidden treasures of Florence’s rich artisan culture and history.
- Ferragamo Museum and Costume Museum at Pitti Palace - Now that Gucci has jumped ship to Rome, Ferragamo is the most important fashion house in Florence. We will visit the museum in the historic Ferragamo headquarters to discover the house’s past and present. We will then go to the Costume Museum to see the collections of historic costumes and pieces by the innovative designers that began the Made in Italy movement.
