        Alex

        George Washington University
        Human Resources

"Global Experiences' Dublin program was an incredible opportunity to accomplish two great things at once: I had always wanted to reconnect with my Irish roots, and I had been meaning to do a Human Resources internship. I was able to do both through the 8 week program, where I acquired invaluable knowledge with a real Irish company during the week, and travelled throughout the country and the region with other GE interns during the weekends. I was able to experience the "real Ireland" living with a family just outside the city of Dublin and commuting to work every day. The skills I developed working in my HR consulting firm have proven to be the most work important experience to date, and got me my current job. From the pub life to the natural beauty of the countryside, Ireland is an incredible place, and Global Experiences helped me immerse myself in the culture, and get a fantastic internship."

"Participating in the Global Experience[s] internship program has been a great experience for me. It has given me the opportunity to learn a lot about other cultures and myself. I have met a variety of people from all over the world and gained a lot from this experience."

"Living and working in Dublin, Ireland, was a great learning experience for me. The people are fantastic and the country side is even more beautiful than the pictures. I worked as a graphic designer and I learned an incredible amount from my co-workers. I still e-mail them today to bounce off creative ideas or ask them questions about our field. My own personal strength was challenged, and ultimately I've learned that it takes perseverance, in any walk of life, to be successful. I am currently working as a graphic designer in Minnesota, and I can say that my internship had a large influence on being hired over my competition. It shows drive and self-motivation to live and intern abroad."

"Global Experiences provided me with an excellent opportunity to learn about Irish culture by working and living in Dublin. I gained valuable work experience through my internship with an international development NGO, which encouraged me to pursue a Masters in Diplomacy and International Relations. Living with a host family in a suburb of Dublin gave me the chance to become familiar with the city, culture and people in a way that many visitors never do. Using weekends to explore the beautiful and historically rich countryside of Ireland was an added bonus to an already incredible experience!"

We are generally able to let you know in our first contact whether you are a good candidate for our program. As we guarantee our internships, Global Experiences will not accept you into the program unless we are confident about finding a suitable placement.

Once you are accepted into the program and pay your program deposit, Global Experiences will immediately begin formalizing your internship placement. We will work with you to create an effective resume, prepare for an interview, and organize the documentation required to secure your visa. All participants will have access to a portal of pre-departure information that will help prepare you for your Global Experience.
