Stephen Reilly joins Fulbright Association as Executive Director

Stephen Reilly, Global Experiences Inc.’s longtime CEO and co-founder, moved into the executive director role of the U.S. Fulbright Association, a Washington, D.C., nonprofit with over 6,000 alumni members including himself.

As an alumnus of the Fulbright scholarship program, Reilly felt strongly that this opportunity would allow him to continue his passion for international education and use the skills developed through growing Global Experiences over the last 11 years. Reilly completed his BA, Communications from Salisbury University and a Masters’ Degree in International Studies focused on Peace and Conflict research at Uppsala University in Sweden while on his Fulbright Scholarship in 1998.

"Heading up the Fulbright Association as Executive Director is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Reilly. “After founding and managing Global Experiences for the last 11 years, the only other organization I feel as passionate about and inspired by is Fulbright. Both organizations provide an invaluable opportunity to touch the lives of thousands of people genuinely interested in the world and making a positive contribution to it."

Emily Merson, Global Experiences co-founder and Managing Director, has taking over as CEO. “This is an exciting time for Global Experiences and we are thrilled for Stephen’s new opportunity. 2013 is going to be a great year for all of us,” Merson said.

Global Experiences is an international internship organization based in Annapolis Maryland, with 28 staff in the US and overseas. Established in 2001, Global Experiences has grown to serve dozens of US universities and thousands of students from the US, Canada, UK, and Australia as they seek international professional experience.
