The Global Experiences Sydney Internship Program provides the opportunity to gain invaluable international work experience. Guranteed Custom Internship Placement

Global Experiences guarantees internships to all participants accepted into its internship programs. Similar to traditional recruitment companies, we work with each applicant on a one-to-one basis to understand their expectations and match them with the best employer in their prospective career field. By getting to know each individual applicant, learning of their academic background, career objectives, language proficiency (where relevant) and overall expectations for their experience abroad, we are able to place each individual in a work environment that will help them gain valuable work experience abroad. We help each prospective intern create an effective resume, prepare for an interview with potential employers, and prepare for their experience living and working abroad

Accommodations

Excursions and Social Events

Global Experiences wants to you to work hard and also play hard with our excursion and activities calendar designed for you to maximize your time abroad. Global Experiences offers regular happy hours to help you network with your peers, travel independently with fellow interns, or use Global Experiences travel resources to fill your social calendar. We also include excursions in each of our programs. Consult one of our program coordinators to learn what is included in your program of interest (it depends on the time of year). All programs include a variety of social opportunities to make the most of your time in Sydney.

Sydney Internship Program Eligibility

Participants in the Sydney internship program are required to be 19-30 years old at the start of the program and have had some relevant coursework in their preferred field of internship placement. Participants must also have a very high level of English necessary to participate in a university and professional setting.

Visa Eligibility

Global Experiences can accept most nationalities into the Sydney program. Participants will either travel on a working holiday visa or on the special programs 416 visa. If you are uncertain regarding your eligibility please inquire within.

Our Placement Process

We excel at matching each intern with the best employer by learning about you and your expectations of your experience abroad. There is not another group or company that does this as well as Global Experiences.

We do not place you with just any company but rather walk you through a comprehensive consultation to understand your academic background, career objectives, language proficiency (where relevant), and whether you are interested primarily in the cultural travel experience or the professional development opportunity. Getting to know you and understanding all of these variables help us identify the best internship for you that will best serve your needs and expectations.

In Sydney, we work with hundreds of employers covering a broad range of academic and career fields. Once you inquire with us, we learn as much about you and convey the types of placements that are available. We are generally able to let you know in our first contact with you whether you are a good candidate for our program. As we guarantee our internships, we will not accept you into our program unless we are confident we can find a suitable placement for you.

Once you are accepted into the program and pay your program deposit, we will immediately begin formalizing your internship placement. We will work with you to create an effective resume, prepare for an interview (required for many placements), and organize the documentation required to secure your visa. Once you are placed, we will provide you with detailed information about your employer and your program. All participants will have access to a portal of pre-departure information that will help prepare you for your Global Experience.

Housing in Sydney

Accommodations for our Sydney program are in contemporary shared apartments (flats) in the center of town. These flats are walking distance to cafes, clubs, restaurants, shopping, and more. This is not your typical student accommodation, and the location in the center of the city is second to none.

These modern serviced apartments will provide a great home to enjoy all that Sydney has to offer. Surrounded by some of Sydney’s best restaurants, department stores, and close to theaters and the Queen Victoria Building, the housing offers superbly appointed one and two bedroom fully self-contained apartments. Included in the program fee is a shared room with another program participant. Single rooms may be available upon request.

The majority of the rooms offer split-levels with balconies, as well as full kitchen and access to onsite laundry facilities. Amenities include a 20m indoor, heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, professionally equipped gym, game room and more. This not a student hostel to be sure!

An oasis from the bustling cityscape, the hotel also boasts a lawn and garden area so you can unwind.

Academic Credit

Yes, you can earn academic credit for this program. There are two ways to obtain credit for a Global Experiences program; transfer credit from our foreign institutional partners or earn independent study credit from our US-based affiliate university, Eastern Washington University. One may also combine foreign transfer credit with independent study credit. The best credit option will be determined by your home university and academic advisor.
