How we choose your internship placement

Global Experiences uses a carefully chosen placement agency in Paris that works with us to provide international work experience for French-speaking young professionals. Once you complete an application form, the field in which you wish to complete the internship will be confirmed, and we will begin to contact relevant placement companies.

Global Experiences and its partners will make every effort to provide the highest quality placements given an applicant's experience and expectations. It is important to note that you should have some experience, either academic or professional, in the placement area for which you are applying. If you are not sure whether you have the minimum experience or language skills expected, be sure to inquire with our Program Coordinators.

Telephone interviews are occasionally requested by some firms involved in finance, accounting and communications in order to confirm the intern’s suitability to the position.

Internship placement without accommodation, part time placements and varied internship lengths may be available so please inquire with a program coordinator.

Please note: Allow 14 weeks prior to start date for application processing and internship placement. In some cases such as finance-related placements or those security sensitive placements, such as social services and education, the process may take longer than in other fields. Therefore, please plan accordingly when applying. As soon as we confirm the internship with the company, we send you a confirmation form with all the company details, contact person, your immediate supervisor, company profile, and internship description. At this time, full payment will be due.

Students will need to have an acceptable level of French to apply.

Visas

For most nationalities, visas are not necessary for programs of 3 months or less. Programs longer than 3 months may require a special visa, which we will help you facilitate.

* Be sure to inquire with our Program Coordinators as soon as possible regarding the visa issues as they relate to the program in which you are interested.

Paris
France Cost of Living Guide:

The cost of living varies in France from city to city, with Paris being the most expensive and the cost of living cheaper in regional cities.

This guide is intended to give an estimate of the cost of basic items throughout France (in US$).

Situated on the banks of the river Seine in north-central France, Paris is only two and a half hours from London on the Eurostar and only 3 hours from the Mediterranean coast by train. In fact, France is small enough that you can travel from the north to south in only 4 hours by train! Therefore, seeing the sights and exploring all that France has to offer is no problem.

Three of the most famous Parisian landmarks are the twelfth century cathedral Notre Dame de Paris on the Île de la Cité, the nineteenth century Eiffel Tower, and the Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe. The Eiffel Tower was a "temporary" construction by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Universal Exposition but the tower was never dismantled and is now an enduring symbol of Paris . It is visible from many parts of the city as are the Tour Montparnasse skyscraper and the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on the Montmartre hill.

Paris enjoys a temperate climate that rarely sees extremely high or low temperatures. The average yearly high temperature is about 24 °C (75 °F), and yearly lows tend to remain around an average of 1 °C (34 °F).
