Program Fees
Internship placements are generally available through the year on our group start dates. Please consult our Program Coordinators to discuss the best timing and placement options available to you. We will make every effort to place you according to your needs and expectations.

Internship placement without accommodation, part time placements and varied internship lengths may be available so please inquire with a program coordinator.
Please note: Working Holiday Visa (Available to citizens of: USA, United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France, and Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Taiwan).
All others allow 14 weeks prior to start date for application processing. So please plan accordingly when applying. As soon as we confirm the internship with the company, we send you a confirmation form with all the company details, contact person, your immediate supervisor, company profile, and internship description. At this time, full payment will be due.
Students will need to have an acceptable level of English to apply. A general guide is "high intermediate" or IELTS score of 5. If you are not sure about your level, please contact our staff to discuss further.

This sports company specializes in providing sports information for use by the media, whether as background or during an event. There is a small branch in Sydney of a multinational company. All this information can be delivered in many forms – either in media guides, or online.
This company has worked on several major events in the past eight years, including the Asian Games Doha 2006, and Rugby World Cup 2003 and 2007. After delivering News Service members for Athens Olympic Games 2004, FIFA World Cup 2002, Goodwill Games 2001 as well as events such as the Gymnastics World Championships 2005 and other World Championships and World Cups, this company would give you an edge in the sports industry.
Tasks vary according to specific placement but may include:
- Internet and some interview-based research for Athlete information for Biographies and team, coach and referee profiles.
- Researching sports results, via the web, for entry into sports database.
- Assist with live scoring - helping to add scores from current events. Assist with 'historical' research on past events.
- Where possible, working at sports events as reporter with the On Site team.

Accommodations
Accommodation is included in the program fees.
Self Catered Homestay Accommodation
All accommodation provided in homestays. Included in your program fees is a self catered homestay, in which you will have your own private room, access to a shared bathroom, kitchen, laundry, appliances and all the amenities of your host's home. This option is a great way to immerse yourself in the Australian culture while still maintaing a sense of independence. All host families must undergo a thorough screening process comprised of a home inspection by our Homestay Coordinator, a family interview, the checking of references, and the submission of a signed Agreement/Contract. We will work closely with you to secure accommodation in as close proximity to your internship location as possible or located close to public transportation so that it meets your expectations. Please note: this option is self-catered, meaning that meals are NOT provided for you in the homestay. If you are interested in having meals provided, let your program consultant know and we can arrange it.
As each participant's accommodations varies according to a wealth of variables, please communicate directly with our program coordinators to learn more about the options available to you for this program. Meanwhile, please review our general accommodations policies to better understand how it all works.

Mobile Phone: Global Experiences covers the registration fees and you are responsible for all usage fees. You will receive when you arrive in Australia.

Visas

All participants in the internship program will need to obtain a visa for participation in the program. Please review the visa options below:
I. US applicants will have access to a Work and Holiday Visa* especially designed for internship participants. These visas are required by the Immigration Department of Australia and allow participants to stay in Australia for up to 12 months. Once your Global Experiences program enrollment is confirmed, you will be able to apply for this visa directly online through the Immigration Department. The cost is estimated at $180 Australian Dollars and is the participants responsibility.
Eligibility requirements for a Working Holiday Visa:
- Be aged 19 to 30 inclusive
- Be outside of Australia when you apply for and are granted the visa
- Show evidence that you are enrolled in a post secondary course of study or hold post secondary qualifications
- Have a return ticket or sufficient funds for a return or onward fare as well as sufficient funds for the first part of your stay, and
- Meet health and character requirements
* Working Holiday Visas are also available to citizens of: United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France, and Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Taiwan.
For eligible program participants holding citizenship from countries that do NOT have access to a Working Holiday Visa or Youth From USA Visa, you will be required to apply for a 416 visa. Your Global Experiences program consultant can provide further details on this application process.

Once your final program payment is received, we will connect you to our predeparture information that will help prepare you and hopefully inspire you even more for your Global Experience.
University Credit

Many of our participants have arranged university credits for their internship. Many degree courses allow internship credits to be transferred for credit or can approve independent study credits for overseas programs. If you are planning on arranging university credits for all or part of the program please plan ahead and discuss with your university advisor or intern coordinator about what steps need to be taken before you leave. We are a happy to work with you to provide any information or certification that you may need.
Global Experiences works with Eastern Washington University to offer credits for most of our programs, which are often transferable to your home institution.
