18 Day Ecuador Service Learning Program (June 2007)
Program Dates: June 17 - July 4, 2007.
Accessible to all Independent Girls’ Schools, the Community Service and Learning Program will provide the opportunity for girls of separate independent schools to meet in Ecuador and volunteer in the Amazon Rainforest, work with underprivileged women and young girls in the city, increase their Spanish proficiency, and have a lot of fun at the same time.
This 18 day program was designed specifically for the advancement of young women. Through careful planning and discussions with dozens of Girls’ Schools, we truly believe that this program will help young women as they develop into future world leaders. And the food, culture, sights, people and history of Ecuador makes this the perfect spot to begin that journey.

Spanish Language + Homestay in Quito
Increase your Spanish proficiency through immersion and small group practice at our partner language school in Quito. Whether you’re a true beginner or have been speaking Spanish for years, this is the best way to improve your skills and all levels of instruction are available. While in Quito you’ll also visit the Middle of the World Museum located on the equator and take part in a number of fun cultural activities. |

CENIT Volunteer
Volunteer to help underprivileged girls and young women in Quito. This hands-on volunteer experience means so much to the women of Quito and will help the girls to become global citizens and gain a more caring, and open view of the world. Many of these girls must look after themselves while their parents work long days and CENIT helps provide much needed stability and support. |
 |
Amazon Rainforest
Get in tune with Amazon conservation efforts by working with project scientists to protect the flora and fauna specific to South and Central America. The project is based on several thousand hectares of protected rainforest several hours drive from Quito. Often underfunded this project requires a network of year round volunteers to keep its mission alive. The girls will also have a blast during an all day rafting trip through the rainforest. |

Cotopaxi National Park
Stay for a few days in the amazing Andean Highlands and enjoy horseback riding and ranch excursions. This is a great opportunity for the students to interact with the people of Ecuador outside of the city, and in one of the most unique biomes in the world. At 22,000 feet above sea level, Cotopaxi is one of the world's highest volcano peaks and the views are nothing less than stunning. It’s the perfect way to end a wonderful trip. |
