Everyone Should Intern in Sydney!

Jess Taleff, a senior studying Music Business and Technology at Millersville University, is currently interning abroad in Sydney, Australia.  When asked about her experience so far by a student interested in joining the program, she had the following to say:

Hey Meghan!

I honestly love it so much! My internship placement is awesome (artist/entertainment management) and it seems like everyone else is really enjoying their internships, as well. All of my work experience so far has been extremely relevant and beneficial. If you ever feel like you're not doing enough, you can always ask for more, though. [I've never had to do that, as I'm constantly pounded with new things to do.]

The accommodation is definitely far from luxurious, but totally livable and in a nice location. Lots of wonderful shops, parks, pubs, and eateries within walking distance and only a short bus away from an enormous amount of other options. There's even a restaurant/bar downstairs that always has great specials. The only negative thing I have to say is that the accommodation does not have air conditioning. We had to buy fans the first day because the heat was unbearable. That's my only complaint, though.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to things to do in your free time, too. After 15-20 minutes on a bus, train or ferry (the system is very easy to figure out), you can be in Circular Quay - where the Harbour Bridge and Opera House are located - or on a beach with breathtaking views that seem too good to be true. I go to Bondi Beach probably 3 times a week. It never gets old. There are a lot of hidden treasures around Sydney, as well. I love taking random buses and exploring on the weekend. You'll learn to be independent very fast if you're not already. It's great to get out of your comfort zone and solve problems/see new things on your own.

Furthermore - The weather is perfect, the landscapes are stunning, and everyone is so nice. Pretty much as good as it gets. My advice would be to do it and never take a single second or opportunity for granted. I am having the time of my life and I'm sure you would, too!
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try my best to answer them!

Cheers,
Jess :)
