Wrap-Up

I’ve been back home for 2 weeks now and the reverse culture shock has pretty much worn off.  I was incredibly sad to leave Sydney and part from the kids that I’ve gotten to know over the last couple of months.  I was excited to get back to my accustomed life here in Vermont though.  I’ve already had to update my resume for a class that I’m about to start and I felt really good about updating it.  I’ve learned so much and acquired so many new skills and insights that will be really beneficial for me when applying for jobs in a few months.

I loved this experience so much that I’m going to try and apply to jobs in Sydney after graduation because I loved the city so much.  This summer was such a life changing experience for me and I know that anyone who throws themselves into a another country and works full time will feel the same way.  I am now back home getting ready for school to start and just got a job bar tending at a local restaurant, but in a few months my sights will be set much higher.  The projects that I’ve worked on this summer will help me get an edge that employers will see when looking at my resume.  I appreciate everything that Global Experiences has done for me and will cherish the new friends and job experience that I have acquired this summer.  Good luck to anyone who is going to participate in this program, I know you’ll love it.

Cheers!
